(Street2Star 2016), the project, first of its kind in the Islamic Music
Industry, seeks to discover fresh Islamic acts and give them a platform to hone
their craft and in the process achieve their dreams in music.
Sunday Esan, Managing Director,
Okiki Films and Music Production, said the Islamic music talent hunt will have
audition in five states (Osogbo, Osun; Abeokuta, Ogun; Ilorin, Kwara; Ibadan,
Oyo State & Lagos).
According to him, five contestants
will emerge from each city. Then they will proceed to Lagos for the finale.
“There are a lot of youths who are
talented and sing in their homes, at school or at mosque but don't know how
they can become professional singers; this talent hunt is for them. We are
looking for a new face, raw talents, those that have passion for singing, ready
to give the Islamic music world new flavour and new face," Esan said.
The overall winner of the talent
hunt will be rewarded with a cash prize of N100,000 and a three-single
recording deal with an A-list singer, which can be extended into an album.
The first runner-up will go home
with a cash prize of N50,000 and two collaborative work with an established
singer while the second-runner up will have N25,000 and a collaborative single.
The Yoruba Film and Video Marketers
Association of Nigeria (YOVIFPMAN) has already endorsed the project, while some
notable Islamic music stars have agreed to help discover the talents and help
mentor them to greatness.
