In line with its robust
support for the arts, especially the promotion of time-honoured family values,
Nigeria's data masters, Globacom, has thrown its weight behind Hush, a
telenovella currently showing on Africa Magic Showcase, Channel 151 on DSTV.
The engaging television
series will have a total of 261 episodes, with Globacom as the lead
sponsor.
It is a 22-man A-list
cast which parades top level actors such as Richard Mofe-Damijo, Olu Jacobs,
Thelma Okoduwa and Mawuli Gavar from Ghana.
The telenovella
chronicles the interesting display of ambition, power, intrigues and emotional
desires. It also explores the affairs between members of the high society and
the attendant power shifts which externalise the varying nuances of the
different characters as they interface with one another.
Specifically, Bem’s (RMD)
marriage proposal to Arinola (Thelma Okoduwa) triggers a chain of events
propelled by the secrets in their respective lives, secrets that run through
the backrooms of secret societies, the corridors of the judiciary and on the
social media.
In a statement released
in Lagos, Globacom enjoined Nigerians to watch the drama series broadcast
weekly at 8 p.m. on Monday through Friday, with repeats
at 4 p.m. on DSTV Channel 151.
The network assured the
public of rich entertainment in addition to learning vital lessons on coping
with existentialist issues of life in sundry ways.
“Hush presents
various slices of contemporary African family life with its attendant
intrigues, follies, virtues and vices. It teaches and thrills as it unravels
secret after secret in the lives of the protagonists that mirror what happens
in the real world. The motto of Hush is ‘nothing is as it seems’ and
this connotes 360 degrees entertainment in an unlimited manner. We commend Hush
to the viewer,” the statement said.
