Every year, Change-A-Life, an Non Govermental Organisation set up by seasoned
television presenter Funmi Iyanda, makes it a habit to celebrate with the financially
disadvantaged but brilliant children in the society. And this it does
every 27 May (Children’s Day).
This year was not
different. The NGO hosted children from various schools at the Eniobanke Arts
Centre in GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
Schools that attended include Born Great International School; Ellyon International School; Elshadai International School and Shining Lords International School. Other schools include Golden Anchor International School; Trainers International School and Julius Grace International School.
To make the day fun filled, budding artiste, Little Rap Kiddo thrilled the crowd with his hit songs, while the children were treated to refreshments, games and music.
Speaking at the event,
Seki Ayeyemi, the event’s co-ordinator, said the event since inception has been
growing in leaps and bounds and asked sponsors to continue to do more so that
they can reach more children.
“As you can see, the
children are happy, and that is what makes us happy. The turnout is impressive
so were our sponsors. We hope they will continue to be with us and even surpass
their current level of support,” Ayeyemi said.
Change-A-Life was established by Funmi Iyanda with the mission to act as a bridge between people in need who possess human, community and leadership potential and the individuals, agencies and organisations with the capacity and willingness to help.
Iyanda, who was out of the country when the event held, thanked all the supporters for coming out to support the less privileged in the society.
She promises a bigger event next year.
