India Aries Coming To Lagos For Sax Appeal

Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter and poet, India Aries will be coming to Lagos, Nigeria as headliner of this year's edition of Sax Appeal Concert holding at the Eko Hotels & Suites on 26 June.

India, who confirmed her coming via a tweet message on Tuesday, will be jamming at the fifth edition of Sax genius Mike Aremu's Jazz Concert alongside Nigeria's Timi Dakolo and Praiz.

Aremu, popularly known as 'Oba Fere' will be the host of the show.

Sax Appeal is a concept of award-winning musician, Mike Aremu, geared towards the rebirth and promotion of the live music experience in Nigeria.

The event has been graced by leading Nigerian and foreign artists such as the Grammy-winning American jazz saxophonist, Kenny G; British jazz urban contemporary saxophonist and two-time MOBO-winner, Yolanda Brown; Nigerian South Africa-based guitarist, Kunle Ayo, and South African jazz and Afro Pop singer, Judith Sephuma.

Others are Yinka Davis, Cobhams Asuquo, Tosin Martins, Waje and Bez.

This year's headliner, India gained instant international recognition with the release of her debut album 'Acoustic Soul' on 27 March, 2001.

The album was promoted with the release of the lead single ‘Video’, which attained commercial success peaking at 47 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and becoming her highest charting song in the region to date.

She has sold over 3.3 million records in the United States and 10 million worldwide, and has won four Grammy Awards from her 21 nominations, including Best R&B Album.
