DAVIDO LOSES MTV EMAs' SLOT TO SAUTI SOL

Kenyan Afro-pop group, Sauti Sol, have halted Nigeria's Davido's winning streak as he lost the final opportunity to emerge the winner of Best African Act at the forthcoming 2014 MTV EMA, one of the biggest global music events of the year that celebrates the hottest artists from around the world. Over the years Nigerian artists have had significant success in the Best African Act category, this year Kenyan Afro-pop group Sauti Sol is officially the first Kenyan act ever to receive this award, the Afro Pop band beat fellow nominees Davido, Toofan, Diamond and Goldfish

to win the title of Best African Act. Sauti Sol now has the opportunity to be voted into the prestigious Worldwide Act award category, the winner which will be revealed during the 2014 MTV EMA holding in Glasgow, Scotland on 9 November. Fans can now vote for the Worldwide Act and their favorite artists across all other 2014 MTV EMA categories at mtvema.com. Voting closes on 8 November at 00:59 CAT. British rock legend Ozzy Ozbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award and will be in Glasgow to accept his award. The 2014 MTV EMA in association with Smirnoff Ice Double Black with Guarana will broadcast live from the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on MTV and MTV Base on Sunday 9 November at 22:00 CAT.
