Ayo Fayose Denounces Friend, Buruji Kashamu, Says He's On His Own

Reality should be setting in for both embattled Prince Buruji Kashamu and his camp as one of his supposedly trusted friends, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has distanced himself from the Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State-born alleged drug Lord.
While the siege by the combined operatives of Nigeria's NDLEA, United States' DEA and Interpol on Oladipo Street, Lekki Phase One, Lagos mansion of the controversial mogul and politician was on Saturday, reports filtered in that the irascible governor of Ekiti State has condemned the operations to arrest the man America want on charges of narcotics deals.
However, as many verbally attacked Fayose for commenting on such sensitive saga, he quickly dismissed the statement being credited to him on the travail of the Senator-Elect, Kashamu in the hands of men of the anti-narcotics bodies, saying he never made any such statement.
Fayose, who spoke through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said the comment must have been generated by desperate political spin doctors to link him with what he knew nothing about.
The statement read; “Kindly disregard any press statement being circulated that I made on Prince Buruji Kashamu today. I have not made any press statement on the travail of Buruji Kashamu today both on Twitter and Facebook or any social media platform. Obviously, the comment being referred to was generated by desperate political spin doctors with ulterior motives and their motive must be to drag me into what does not concern me as a governor. For all intent and purposes, the issue relating to Prince Buruji Kashamu is not political and I as a governor does not have anything to do with it.”
Fayose and Kashamu are like a roll dawg. Aside sharing same political ideology, they seem to easily connect on other issues as observed by many.
Meanwhile, kashamu has been confined to his residence pending his appearance in court tomorrow, Monday morning.
Michael Ofoyeju, NDLEA spokesperson, said the action was to perfect his extradition to the US.
