Buruji Kashamu Under House Arrest, Threatens Suicide

After almost ten hours, news has it that controversial businessman and senator-elect for Ogun East district, Prince Buruji Kashamu has been placed on house arrest, as he threatened to commit suicide should he be forcefully extradited to the United States.
Kashamu told online news platform, SaharaReporters, that the operatives that surrounded his house are masked and were operating illegally. “I will commit suicide should NDLEA forces surrounding my house in Lekki break my bedroom door,” he was quoted.
PBK said he will accept “house arrest” until Monday when a competent court can decide on the legality of extradition.
The news broke early Saturday morning that Nigeria's NDLEA operatives, United States' DEA agents and Interpol had surrounded Kashamu's Lekki, Lagos mansion in an operation to begin his extradition to the US on charges over narcotics.
The agents were said to have forced their way into Buruji's compound but find it hard locating him. But after several hours, he was said to have been sighted and arrested.
Meanwhile, a report by Nigeria's independent television station, Channels TV, stated that the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Mohammed Adoke on Saturday said the arrest of Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu, is not an extra judicial action.

More details later...
